Van Gogh walk - step into Vincent's world (in Dutch)
Go back in time with us on the Van Gogh walk in Hoogeveen! On Wednesday 17 April, Tourist Info is organising a special walk along places that recall the time of Vincent van Gogh.
The walk starts at 13:30 at Hoogeveen Station and ends around 16:00, again at the station. Along the way, city guide Jan Pol will take you into the Hoogeveen of around 1890. Using old photos, he shows what the town looked like at the time Van Gogh lived and worked here.
This way, the past literally comes to life.
New in 2026: Illumilab
This year, an extra special feature has been added to the walk: a visit to Illumilab at Hoogeveen Library.

Illumilab is an audiovisual experience room where you experience Vincent van Gogh's story in a unique way.
With images, sound and projections, you step into his world, as it were. Back to the past, away from the present - a surprising and inspiring experience!
