Saturday 22 August
See how people used to live and work? You can do so at the Karstenhoeve on a number of Saturdays. Each day has a different theme. During Boerendrokte, you can see how things used to be on the farm. The girls never finish their work: they clean, cook, sew, churn and the servants also have plenty of work to do every day! But the carriage also has to be repaired, because the farmer wants to leave soon, grandma nags and the TB patient has to be taken care of. If the negosiekeerl, the calf-sketcher and a bunch of unsavoury vagrants also drop by, it's quite a farmer's mess! Children are allowed to help with chores and there is an old-fashioned play corner: plenty to do!
