until 1 August
This circular walk in Diever starts and ends at the OERmuseum and is led by an experienced guide. From the museum, you walk towards the hunebed on Groningerweg. You then head to the spot where Professor Van Giffen unearthed a stone coffin and pass a burial mound. After that, you walk across the ‘De Heezeberg’ estate with its beautiful moraines. You’ll finish in the old town of Diever before walking back to the museum.
Along the way, you’ll learn a great deal about how the landscape came to be as we see it today: shaped by nature on the one hand and altered by humans on the other. During the walk, you’ll also see remarkable prehistoric remains. The guide will tell you all about it. The archaeological circular walk can easily be combined with a visit to the museum.
