Dokter Larijweg in Ruinerwold is a well-known and attractive avenue, thanks to the many (over 1,000!) pear trees along the road. In spring the blossoms create a beautiful picture and in autumn the trees are full of pears, giving the road a typically rural character.
Be sure to visit the annual stewing pear festival in October; on that weekend the pears are auctioned in a playful way.
Beautiful authentic farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. Once built by the wealthy Karsten family, now in use as a museum for 60 years, with a showroom in the front house that lives up to its name, the pantry and the daytime kitchen where it seems as if the inhabitants could walk in at any moment. In the rear house, the farmer's tools and carriages and finally the exhibition attic with changing exhibitions.
