The Bomb FM | Cold War walking experience with music | 6 km

Tune in to the sound of the Cold War!

With The Bomb FM, you walk on a site where nuclear weapons were once stored. Meanwhile, you hear iconic pop songs and personal interviews about this period. The Cold War left few physical traces, but it had a huge impact on our society. During this walk, you will hear that impact reflected.

Artists, protesters and military: everyone has their own perspective. Pop songs about the Cold War (such as The Bomb or The Wind of Change) you may have heard a thousand times. But never like this!

They have been specially covered by local choirs for this walk.

The Bom FM is suitable for walkers from 12 years of age. The route is ± 6 kilometres long and is partly on unpaved paths, so walking shoes are handy. The starting point is at Het Lokaal on the mountain (Friesestraatweg 12, Nijeveen), parking is available here.

PLEASE NOTE: Part of this route crosses military training grounds. To avoid standing in front of a closed gate, call the site supervisor on duty on a working day in advance on 06 51259308
