Seasonal walk in the Drents-Friese Wold

On Sunday afternoon, Staatsbosbeheer is organising a spring walk in the Drents-Friese Wold. The start is at the Outdoor Centre and the walk is about 5 km long. A nature guide will take you for a leisurely walk with plenty of attention to what is currently in nature.

Every season is suitable for going out. Take a walk with a guide from Staatsbosbeheer and be amazed at what you can discover.

Pay attention, for instance, to the birds, feeding their young with beaks full of insects. Or butterflies, fluttering along the forest edge. On a sunny day, for instance, you can see the first small fireflies flying. They spent the whole winter as caterpillars and in early spring they pupated to crawl out of their cocoons at the end of April. Along the paths, you can then see the males flying around to guard their territory and find a female.

Open your senses and you will see and hear a lot more. Sign up via the Staatsbosbeheer website and join the walk on the various Sundays.
