On the edge of the woods and moors of the Drents-Friese Wold is Hoeve De Werkhorst. The Bethlehem family runs a modern dairy farm on this rural farm belonging to the Weldadigheid Society. They make their own yoghurt, butter, buttermilk, chocolate milk and custard under the name 'Zuivel van de Luie Boer'. In the cosy shop you can buy these delicacies and many more regional products and trinkets.

You are most welcome to taste the fresh dairy products in the tearoom or simply enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea with something sweet. Feel free to enjoy the terrace, where the chickens sneak a peek and you can relax in the middle of nature. You can even enjoy a pleasant stay in the authentic pig barn with a group of up to 50 people. A unique place for an outing or party. The room is fully equipped.

Hoeve De Werkhorst is a great starting or finishing point for your cycling or walking tour. From here you can cycle and walk for miles. It is also located directly on the wheelchair path and, with its excellent adapted facilities, it is a fine base for the disabled (including lying down care and shower stretcher).
