The visitor centre Dwingelderveld is located at the gateway to the National Park. It is located on the south-west side, just outside the cosy village of Ruinen.
The visitor centre houses a permanent exhibition with information on the origins and management of the valuable moorland landscape. There are also frequently changing exhibitions, making it interesting to visit more often. You can also easily explore the Dwingelderveld and the Ruinen sheep flock from the visitor centre.
