The New Forge
In the beautiful, rural and peaceful surroundings of Dwingeloo, in the heart of Drenthe, the Nieuwe Smederij is located among the trees and fields. The Nieuwe Smederij was built in 1920 and until the end of the last century it housed a smithy. Old photos from that time still bear witness to life as it must have looked around the forge.
Our house is located on a beautiful cobbled road surrounded by old oaks and overlooks the meadows of the hamlet of Eemster. Behind the house is a large garden with a pond and stunning views of the surroundings. There are several terraces and spots in the garden to sit back and relax.
Peace, quiet, nature, birdsong and a relaxed atmosphere set the scene in this beautiful place.

To let other people enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the garden and the peace and quiet, we rent our back house as a holiday home or Bed & Breakfast for up to 4 people. From May 2011, we have a second, new holiday home at our disposal. It is also suitable as a holiday home or Bed & Breakfast for a maximum of 4 people.
You are welcome to spend one night, several nights or a longer holiday at the New Forge.
