The Dwingeloo Radio Telescope, opened in 1956, has been a national monument since 2009 and is one of the oldest and internationally most famous radio telescopes in the world. The radio telescope is located in a radio interference-free zone near the ASTRON/JIVE buildings in the middle of the Dwingelderveld National Park. The CAMRAS Foundation gives amateur astronomers, radio amateurs, pupils, students and other interested parties the opportunity to work with the telescope and do research. There are regular public activities and interested groups can request a guided tour. See www.camras.nl/bezoekersinfo.
