Museum farm the Karstenhoeve
Beautiful authentic farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. Once built by the wealthy Karsten family, now in use as a museum for 60 years, with a showroom in the front house that lives up to its name, the pantry and the daytime kitchen where it seems as if the inhabitants could walk in at any moment. In the rear house, the farmer's tools and carriages, and finally the exhibition loft with changing exhibitions.
We will be happy to give you a tour of the farm and tell you about proverbs and sayings that originated on the farm. In the large area, you can sit down and have a drink or order, for example: "coffee mit Roeffie": a beautiful tray with flowered cup and saucer, pear cake, a pear liqueur and a Roeffie; a piece of delicious cake baked according to Ruinerwoldse Roeffie's recipe.
