Mill De Sterrenberg

A unique mill in the heart of the village of Nijeveen, that is corn mill Sterrenberg. Unique, because of the system used. Millers from all over the country come to see the Sterrenberg's self-crossing and self-swinging system. The mill was brought to the Netherlands from Germany in 1977. Take a look at this mill, with extensive shop. The mill is always open on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Otherwise, as with most mills in Drenthe, you are welcome when the sails are turning.

The village of Nijeveen is still just in the province of Drenthe, close to the head of Overijssel. The mill occupies a prominent place in the village. If there is something special, the mill is always cheerfully decorated. During Nijeveen's 500th anniversary (1977), mill Sterrenberg was reopened by H.R.H. Prince Claus.
