This location is a perfect starting point for walking and cycling during the day and the hustle and bustle of the city centre in the evening. On Thursday mornings and all day Saturday, there is a market in the centre. Friday evening is the weekly shopping evening.

Vincent van Gogh
From 2023, you will find a very large mural by Vincent van Gogh in the centre opposite Theater de Tamboer (walk through the museum lane right opposite the entrance to the camper van site). The cycle route Vincent's Arrival and the walk A New Begin start at Hoogeveen Station. Bike hire is available. Or walk the Trommelslager route on your own, start centre Hoogeveen (ANWB 6-sided signs).
