The VAM-Berg consists of two parts. The first part consists of three climbing routes and one descent and is 48 metres above NAP. The routes are 2100 m long in total and have an average gradient of 10%. On the northernmost route, a 150-metre boulder strip with a steep gradient of as much as 15% also awaits at the end! At the top, you will find Infomation Centre De Blinkerd.

Looking for more of a challenge? Then be sure not to skip the second section. Open to the public since the end of 2023, it has a height of 63 metres above sea level. There is an uphill route that is slightly steeper, with an average gradient of 11.5% and a maximum gradient of 16.5%.

There is also a special mountain bike trail open to the public, a spectacular course with lots of descents and climbs. Along the way, a 300-metre raft and a 60-metre floating water bridge await you, among other things! Two connecting routes have been created for mountain bikers to the VAM mountain, from the Boslounge in Spier and from Sleen. The MTB route on VAM mountain is marked with the standard markings for MTB routes.
Are you more of a hiker? They certainly haven't been left out either. Het Drentse Landschap has set out two signposted walking routes over and along VAM-Berg. Walking route 'De VAM-Berg en Het Oude Diep' is 5 kilometres and takes you across VAM. The walking route 'Beekdal van het Oude Diep' is 8 kilometres and does not go over VAM-Berg but through the stream valley area that surrounds VAM.
