Bakery
In the former Frederiksoord bakery, bread was baked centrally for the inhabitants of the colony. In 1860, it was decided to outsource the baking of bread and the property with the shop was sold to the Spikman family. Besides the bakery, the family also ran the mill on Molenlaan. Until 4 December 1999, four generations of Spikman operated the bakery. The Spikman bakers were a household name in Frederiksoord
Today, the bakery is part of Logement & Gasterij Frederiksoord and you can stay overnight in this historic building.
