Additional info
This Dwingeler ommetje is a lovely short route around the Brink in Dwingeloo with a delightful foray into the small-scale landscape on the west side of the pretty village of Dwingeloo.
The active club of volunteers from Dwingeloo has developed a number of very beautiful ommetjes in recent years. Together with residents, local farmers, the municipality of Westerveld and Staatsbosbeheer, they have managed to create some very varied short walks.
Ommetje Mars is the first ommetje developed by this club and has a lot of variation within its 4.9 kilometres. You cross the most beautiful village square in Drenthe, walk along ditches and along canals, encounter an estate and see the Dwingelder stream in the distance.
Along the way in the middle of nature, there is a dug-out pool near a realised outdoor classroom, where you can sit (benches and picnic table) and where the local primary school also has space to teach outdoors.
Lovely for a short walk after or before a meal on the Brink where the diversions begins and starts. You can park opposite De Weijert nursing home or at the large car park on the Brink. The detours also pass there so you can also choose to start there.
Enjoy your walks!
