Cycling route Dwingelderveld (audio route)

Would you like to discover the south-west of Drenthe while cycling, seen through the eyes of painters of the past and contemporary photographers? The route goes through the Dwingelderveld, an area of extremes: through drifting dunes, past fens and manor houses, past dobs and pingoes and through woods and heathlands.

Description
- Get to know this national park through the eyes of painters Sientje van Mesdag-van Houten, Carl Blechen, Jan van Goyen, George Hendrik Breitner and Willem Maris, among others.
- The cycle route starts at the visitor centre in Spier and then goes to Ruinen, Dwingeloo and Lhee. The route follows the cycle junctions, is 39 kilometres long and runs almost everywhere on separate cycle paths.
