Drents-Friese Wold National Park - Discover wild nature

You can feel the wind against your cheeks. There, on the 'Bare Dunes', a sand lizard scurries off. It's like being in the desert on the mysterious Aekingerzand sand plain. But the Drents-Friese Wold offers more than drifting sand and lizards. Birds of prey fly overhead. A viper warms itself in the still watery spring sunshine. With a bit of luck, you might catch a flash of a fox, a polecat or a pair of deer.
